1. Samuel¹ Burnison was born 1846. and died 1878. He married Mary Jane Clements. She was born June 28. 1848 in Newbury Kent Co.. Ont., and died 1903.

Notes for Mary Jane Clements:
Mary Jane Clements Burnison Nickless - Buried in Montrose Cemetery west of the church in a grove of a couple real big trees. Buried on a Clements plot with first husband. Samuel Burnison.

Also buried on this Clements plot are (reading right to left) - Samuel Burnison. b 1846 d 1878.
Mary Jane Nickless. b 1848 d 1903; Myrtle Clements. daughter of S & M Burnison died Jan 7. 1887. aged 11 years, 1 month. 7 days; Sarah A. Hicks March 29, 1859 "Mother" (Could this be Anna Clements' mom?); William Clements b Sept 1824 - d July 28. 1902; "Mother" Anna Clements b. Sept. 13. 1826? d March 21. 1907; There was also another little tombstone toward the back of the plot that I think said M.C.B. It was almost weathered smooth. On the large family tombstone in the plot is the following inscription:

"Tis hard to break the tender cord
When love has bound the heart
Tis hard, so hard to speak the words
We must forever part.
Dearest loved one we must lay thee
In the peaceful grave's embrace
But thy memory will be cherished
Til we see thy heavenly face."

Based on the placement of the graves, names. etc., I would GUESS that Samuel is Mary Jane's first husband, especially with Myrtle's grave next. Then Sarah Hicks who might have been Anna's mother, William Clements and Anna Clements who may have been Mary Jane's parents. This warrants some investigation if anybody's interested.

I changed the birth dates I had on John and Minnie to coincide with census dates - 1900 Frankenmuth.
